James “JR” Fannon, 41, of Windsor, Missouri, died Thursday morning, February 24, 2022, in Windsor.
He was born April 23, 1980, in Excelsior Springs, Mo., the son of Albert Vernon “Buddy” Fannon and Leanna Sue (Bowers) Fannon. JR attended school in Windsor and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in St. Louis following high school. He worked at Prison Brews restaurant in Jefferson City, Mo., for several years. After moving back to Windsor to be close to family, he worked doing construction. He could take castoffs and “junk” metal or wood and turn them into functional works of art, making lamps, chandeliers, and other beautiful pieces. He enjoyed music and attending concerts, cooking in the kitchen, and spending time with family and friends. He loved his dog, Bronson.
Survivors include his mother, Anna Fannon, Windsor, Mo.; a brother, Elmo Fannon, Windsor, Mo.; his maternal grandmother, Arletta Teegarden, Windsor, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Sheri Fannon, Clinton, Mo.; 9 uncles and aunts, Giles Bowers (Julia), Dennis Bowers (Debbie), Nancy Dunbar (Gary), Jeanette Hargrave (Rodney), Kenny Fannon, Eddie Fannon, Richard Fannon, Donald Fannon, and Linda Haskins; 6 nieces and nephews, Chantel Fannon (Joshua), Carissa Fannon, Kyra Fannon, Tia Fannon, Quenton Fannon, and Lea Fannon; a great niece, MeKenley Fannon; a great-nephew Landon Fannon; special long-time friend Allison Rhodes, Windsor, Mo.; and countless friends, including Phil and Kay Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Fannon; a daughter Ollie; a brother, Willie Fannon; 2 maternal grandfathers, James Teegarden and Richard Bowers; paternal grandparents, June and Richard Fannon; an uncle, Duffy Fanny; and 2 aunts, Elizabeth Bowers and Marie Bowers.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Jamie Hargett officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
