Voters in St. Clair County went to the polls Tuesday for the April 7 General Municipal Election, with several local races and ballot questions decided in what election officials describe as low turnout across the county.

According to unofficial results released Tuesday night, a limited number of ballots were cast across St. Clair County precincts, reflecting a light participation rate typical of spring municipal elections. Final numbers will be certified later this week.

Several city and school board races appeared on the ballot, along with questions impacting local services and funding. In Osceola, voters weighed in on a city ballot question, while additional decisions were made in races for aldermen and other municipal positions throughout the county.

Countywide, voters also considered issues related to public services, including questions tied to water districts and prosecutorial funding. Early results show those measures drawing mixed support depending on the precinct.

Election officials remind residents that all results remain unofficial until certified, and write-in votes are still being finalized.
