Motorists in Henry County should prepare for daytime closures on Route O beginning next week as the Missouri Department of Transportation completes pavement improvements.

MoDOT crews will be placing a new layer of asphalt on Route O between Route N and Northwest 500 Road, northwest of Clinton. The project is scheduled to take place from June 8 through July 2, with work occurring from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

During construction, all lanes of Route O will be closed in sections where crews are actively working. While residents and property owners will continue to have access to driveways and entrances, through traffic will not be allowed to travel through the work zone.

The roadway will reopen during nighttime hours and on weekends. No signed detours will be provided, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during work hours.

MoDOT says signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists approaching the closure. Drivers can also monitor current road conditions and closures through MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

For additional information, contact MoDOT’s Springfield District office at 417-895-7600 or visit MoDOT Southwest District.
