A Belton man is facing charges in Henry County after investigators say he admitted to stealing wheels and tires from a new pickup truck at Gregg Smith Ford Lincoln and attempting to sell them online.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Clinton Police Detective Bobby Osman, the theft occurred during the overnight hours of June 10. The victim business reported that someone entered the property, jacked up a 2026 Ford F-350, and removed the wheels and tires, valued at approximately $5,400. The suspect reportedly left the truck resting on jack stands before leaving the scene. Investigators said the jack stands later failed, causing the truck to fall onto its rotors and frame, resulting in additional damage.
Security video captured a blue Hyundai Tucson without registration plates entering the property shortly after midnight and leaving about 40 minutes later. During the investigation, detectives identified Adam Mohamed Muss Saeed as a suspect and linked him to similar wheel thefts in Missouri and Kansas. Investigators learned Saeed had been recorded during the sale of stolen Ford Raptor wheels and tires in Louisburg, Kansas, while driving the same Hyundai Tucson seen in the Clinton surveillance footage.
Court documents state that Saeed contacted a witness around 7 a.m. on June 10, saying he had obtained a set of 2026 Ford F-350 wheels and sent photographs of them. Investigators also found a Facebook Marketplace listing offering the wheels, center caps and lug nuts for sale for $1,500.
Detectives later traveled to Saeed’s residence in Belton, Missouri, where they reportedly observed the stolen wheels inside the blue Hyundai Tucson parked outside. According to the probable cause statement, Saeed consented to officers recovering the wheels from the vehicle.
During an interview, Saeed allegedly admitted to stealing the wheels, tires, center caps and lug nuts from the Clinton business.
The case has been filed in Henry County Circuit Court.
