Gary Lee Madole, 84, of Lebanon, Missouri, formerly of Calhoun, Mo., passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026, at his home in Lebanon.
He was born September 4, 1942, in Yuba City, California, the son of Melvin Hurschel Madole and Frances Genevieve (Laughlin) Madole. On September 18, 1965, he married Ella Mae Eisel in Kansas City, Mo. They shared nearly 61 years of marriage.
He grew up playing baseball and was an excellent pitcher. He was baptized at the First Christian Church, Windsor, and graduated from Windsor High School. He served in the United States Navy and then worked for Peabody Coal Company for 9 years. He began employment with the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and worked there for 30 years.
In July of 2006, Gary and Ellie retired to Lebanon, Mo., where Gary could spend as much time as possible fly fishing at Bennett Springs State Park. He was also a fishing guide and tied fishing flies by the thousands, giving them away to any fisherman he met. He was a huge Kansas City Chief’s fan and never missed a game.
In addition to his wife, Ellie, survivors include a son, Jeff Madole (Tammie), Calhoun, Mo.; 8 grandchildren, Nikki Martin (Kody), Laci Madole, Shelby Madole, Taylor Breanna Madole, Samuel Madole, Bethany Madole, Leah Madole, and Silas Madole; 2 great-granddaughters, A.J. Hanks and Mikasa Martin; a sister, Sheri Bredehoeft (Tracy), Oak Grove, Mo.; and 5 nieces and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Madole; and a brother, Terry Madole.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening, September 17, at the funeral home.
