Please join the Henry County Library in welcoming young author, Wyatt Shield for a special storytime event on Thursday, April 18th at 10:00 a.m. The event will be held at the library’s Clinton location as well as being live-streamed on the Henry County Library Facebook page. Wyatt will be sharing his unique story and reading his book Wyatt’s Big Adventures with Shriners.

Wyatt was born with 12 fingers, two thumbs on each hand. He will be sharing adventures throughout his multiple surgeries and treatments at Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in St. Louis and expressing what the Shriner’s organization means to his family.

In the words of his parents, “Wyatt is an extraordinary kid with a servant’s heart, who is wise beyond his years. He has been on some BIG adventures in his first 6 years and wants to share his experience with others. He is driven to do so in order to help others know that it is okay to be different, pay tribute to everyone who has helped him, and prove that “Little kids can do big things!” To say we are proud of his gracious heart, big goals, and determination is an understatement. Astonished is more fitting.”

Copies of Wyatt’s Big Adventures with Shriners will be available for purchase at the event. The cost is $20.00, and cash, check, or credit/debit card payments will be accepted. For more information, please contact the library at (660)885-2612.
