Sue Ella Taylor, 82, of Windsor, Missouri, died early Saturday morning, June 22, 2024, at her home.
She was born December 30, 1941, in Windsor, Mo., the daughter of Vencil Mitchell Murray and Ella Maude (Goff) Murray. On August 13, 1961, she married Norman D. “Mike” Taylor and he preceded her in death on January 28, 2021.
Sue attended grades 1-6 at Oakland, a one room schoolhouse near her family farm, and grades 7-12 in Windsor, graduating in 1959. She was a water clerk for the City of Windsor for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandkids, and going fishing, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church and volunteered with the blood mobile, food pantry, and Harvester’s food distribution.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Vicki Ferdig (Gary), Monett, Mo., and Becky Gallagher (Tim), Pleasant Hill, Mo.; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Himes (Eden), Austin Himes (Jacque), Blake Himes (Ashley), Taylor Ford (Chet), Shawn Gallagher, and Tristan Ferdig; 11 great-grandchildren, Matison Himes, Cameron Himes, Landyn Himes, Andilyn Himes, Oliver Himes, Loren Himes, Riley Gorr, Norman Himes, Sarah Bickford, Ella Ford, and Franki Ford; a great-great-grandson, Cadell Duncan; a brother-in-law, Rodney Wesner; and a nephew and niece, Brad Wesner and Suzanne Wesner. In addition to her husband Mike, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Himes; her mother, Maude Murray; her father and step-mother, Vencil and Irene Murray; her sister, Beverly Wesner; her in-laws, Norman O. and Anna Ruth Taylor; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Windsor United Methodist Church with Pastor Pete Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor United Methodist Church in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
