Deputies Rescue Four People From Flooded Water

Thursday night, July 4th, around 9:09 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of
Purvis Rd. north of 203rd Street in Pleasant Hill.
Four people in a UTV were trapped in flood water.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office Disaster Emergency Response Team arrived to conduct a
water rescue operation.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office Disaster Emergency Response Team used a rescue boat to
recover the four people.
The group had been trapped in the water approximately a half mile from the nearest access
point for almost two hours.
By 10:45 p.m., the people were rescued and reunited with family members.
The Pleasant Hill Police Department, Pleasant Hill Fire Department and Missouri State Highway
Patrol assisted in this effort.
