Two Friday Afternoon Accidents leave Travelers in Serious Condition

Two vehicle accidents occured on Friday, July 12th. The first was at 1 pm in Henry county on 7 hwy just west of Tightwad. Marilyn Y Lam, 84, of Clinton was operating her Kawasaki Mule when she was attempting a left hand turn and was struck by a SUV driven by Janice K Caldwell,69, of Eldridge, MO. Lam was ejected from the vehicle. Lam was lifeflighted to Research Medical in serious condition. The second incident occured in Benton county at 4:45 pm. The accident was at Balke Rd and 65 Hwy.  A pickup driven by Chasity N Webster, 29, of Warsaw pulled onto Hwy 65 in front of the path of a SUV driven by Amanda M Greff, 32, of Springfield. The two vehicles then collided. Greff and a 14 year old juvenile passager were air lifted to hospitals in serious condition. Three other passagers in the SUV were taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in serious condition.
