Drought Continues to Fade Away in Missouri

Drought conditions in Missouri continue to fade away.

The latest drought monitor shows only one small abnormally dry area, covering portions of Newton, Jasper, Barry, and Lawrence counties in the southwest part of the state. An abnormally dry area that covered extreme southern Barry County last week is gone thanks to recent rainfall.

Last Friday, the state’s Drought Assessment Committee recommended allowing the current drought alert to expire on September 1st.
