St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office receives a K9 by donation

St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the donation of K9 Kodiak Apego. Kodiak is an all-black 14-month-old German Shepard born in Czech Republic. Kodiak was donated by the daughter of Robert E. Donnelly, who recently passed away. Robert was a strong supporter of Veterans and Law Enforcement. He loved horses and dogs. This charitable donation of $11,000.00 is in memory of Robert and a welcomed blessing to the St. Clair County K9 program. K9 Kodiak has been paired with K9 Handler, Deputy A. Marshall. K9 Kodiak is being trained as a dual purpose K9, training in narcotics, tracking, and patrol work. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office would like to send a huge shout out to Ben Branch of Lone Wolff K9 in St. Louis, Missouri, in helping make this possible. K9 Kodiak and Deputy A. Marshall will be training under the tutelage of Scott Hedger of Von Henger Kennels, and the president of the Missouri Police Canine Association. K9 Kodiak and Deputy A. Marshall are looking forward to serving the great citizens of St. Clair County.
