Come out to the 2024 EMH Community Block Party Saturday September 28. The Block Party will have little something for everyone. They kick the
morning off with a 5K at 8:00 a.m. (Sponsored by AC Rural Health Clinic). Reduced-price lab draws will be available from 8:00-11:00 a.m.
Healthcare vendor booths will be set up with information on their available services and resources. Come shop the vendors! It’s never too early to
start your Christmas Shopping and they have small business vendors on-site selling a wide range of products. There will also be several activities for
the kids to enjoy: bounce house, petting zoo, face painting, kid’s games, fire truck, ambulance, Build a Critter, etc. EMH will also be providing free
snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy! While you’re here, don’t forget to get your photo taken with KC Wolf! Bring the whole family for a fun day

Appleton City residential fall cleanup is taking place through Thursday, September 26. Large dumpsters are located at the Public Works Building,
110 S. Maple (across from the swimming pool). You will be responsible for getting your items into the roll-off containers. There will be 1 20 yard
roll-off container for appliances, TV’s, computers and monitors available and 2 30 yard roll-off container will be available for sofas, carpets and
other approved wastes. No tires, liquid paint, batteries, motor oils, concrete, cleaning solvents or yard waste can be accepted.
The ACHS Homecoming parade will be 2:30 p.m. October 4. The theme for homecoming is Y2K (Early 2000s). If anyone is interested in being part
of the parade, please contact Lyndsi Rivera at 660-464-2575 or email lrivera@appletoncity.k12.mo.us. The community is invited to join in the dress
up days, Tuesday Denim Day Wednesday We Wear Pink (Mean Girls) Thursday Goth vs. Prep and Friday – Spirit Day (wear red white and blue).
The coronation will be during halftime of the football game against Osceola Indians which starts at 7:00 p.m.
A fish fry benefit fundraiser will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. September 27 at the Fair Haven Park on Hwy C, 8 miles north of Walker, MO. The menu
includes fried fish and hush puppies, baked beans, cole slaw, fried potato wedges and homemade bread and butter. Freshly cranked ice cream and
homemade pies (baked by the community ladies) for dessert. A freewill donation will benefit Stoney Creek, Walnut Creek and Shady Lawn Schools.
St. Clair County Cattlemen’s Meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, at the Landmark Restaurant. The Sponsor/Speaker is ADM.
A delicious hot baked potato lunch will be served Wednesday, October 16 at the AC M.K.&T. Railroad Depot from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is
the 20th year! The steaming hot baked potatoes will be served with your choice of toppings of chili, broccoli, cheese, bacon and sour cream. Drink
and a serving of homemade cake are included for $10. Come and visit as you enjoy your meal in the Depot or carryouts will be available. All profits
will be used by Appleton City Landmarks Restoration for maintenance of the 1870 M.K.&T. Depot, 1870 Library and Museum Complex.
On Saturday, October 19, Valley Center Church will host their 33 rd annual Oktoberfest. It promises to be a most delicious evening with serving a
German home cooked meal from 3:00-8:00 p.m. There is also a country store and musical entertainment. Adults eat for $15. Children ages 6-12 eat
for $3.00. Their address is 930 NE 1126 RD. Deepwater MO. The church is located 3 miles North of Lowry City or 12 miles South of Clinton off of
13 HWY. Bring non-perishable food items and receive $1 off of an adult meal and help support local food pantries.
Trinity United Methodist Church in AC houses the backpack program project, which is funded by community donations. With the increased cost of
groceries, they are reaching out for your help. They are currently sending 37 packs home weekly. Make donations payable to TUMC, memo:

The Ministerial Alliance of Appleton City and Immaculate Conception Church are co-hosting an informational meeting regarding Amendment 3 at
6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3 at the Montrose Community Building. The speaker will be Deborah Sheppard, Director of the Office of Life and
Justice for KCSJ Diocese. Be an informed voter and learn about this amendment and the ramifications it will cause if passed. Thanks to the Knights
of Columbus for the use of the building. Yard signs and other materials will be available that night.
River of Life will be hosting Ingathering3 again this year at the church in Rockville. Meetings will be nightly from Wednesday, October 16 through
Wednesday, October 23. They will feature different ministers and worship leaders/teams each night throughout the 8 days of meetings. Look for
posters in the area soon or contact Pastor James Damon (jdamon@rockvillechurch.org) for more information. They will have a light meal each
evening at 6:00 p.m., followed by worship beginning at 7:00 p.m. nightly. Offerings will be taken each evening for visiting ministry. Any donations
to help with meeting expenses are welcome as well, but the meetings are free to attend and all are welcome. Come enjoy worshiping together with
friends and family, and other brothers and sisters in Christ as it is “time for the Ecclesia to be the Ecclesia”.
