The 20th annual AC Landmarks Restoration hot baked potato lunch will be served Wednesday, October 16 at the Depot from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hot baked potatoes served with your choice of toppings of chili, broccoli, cheese, bacon and sour cream, drink and homemade cake are $10.

October 18, the ACHS and the ACMS will host the football pink night. Proceeds go to Jacob Rapp to assist with his cancer battle. There will be games, cookies, prizes, a 50/50 raffle, face painting, t-shirt sales, sponsorship opportunities, and other activities.

October 19 is the next street festival featuring vendors, food and bouncy houses start at 11:00 a.m. Kids activities are all day with dinner provided by the Street Festival. Monegaw Strings will perform from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Come for a day of fun and an evening of Bluegrass entertainment. Bouncy House sponsors include: Moore Auto and Towing, Gary’s All Around Tree Service and the AC Police Department. Coy Stephan & Ozarks Friends are returning to the Rustic Duck 5:30 p.m. October 19 for a bluegrass festival. There will be old-time, bluegrass and country music. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the entertainment. There will also be Indian corn maize, arrowhead hunt, hunger games, corn sandbox, hay bale road, sasquatches and Indian crafts.

On Saturday, October 19, Valley Center Church will host their 33rd annual Oktoberfest. They are serving a German home cooked meal from 3:00-8:00 p.m. There is also a country store and musical entertainment. Adults eat for $15. Children ages 6-12 eat for $3.00. Their address is 930 NE 1126 RD. Deepwater MO. The church is located 3 miles North of Lowry City or 12 miles South of Clinton off of 13 HWY. Bring non-perishable food items and receive $1 off of an adult meal and help support local food pantries.

Ellett Memorial Hospital will have their 7th Annual Breast Cancer Wellness & Awareness Day 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27. Come receive your pre-registered annual 3-D mammogram by Diagnostic Imaging Center Mobile Coach. Appointments can be made at 913-344-9989. Walk-ins will be worked in as time allows.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Knights of Columbus will have their monthly pancake and sausage breakfast at the Hall in Montrose on Sunday, October 27 from 8:30–10:00 a.m. Treat your family to a hot breakfast you don’t have to cook or clean up. A free will donation will be appreciated

Appleton City Church of God is sponsoring a program titled “Going Deeper in Your Christian Walk,” exploring what it means to live a life that truly pleases God. Services will be held on Sunday, October 20, at 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with additional services on October 21-23 at 7:00 p.m. you are invited to stay for food and fellowship following the services, with special music provided by Carol Avery and messages brought by Steve Elsey.

Pastor David Hill invites you to come learn from a new sermon series “Daniel & Revelation: Exploring the Christian Apocalypse and Renewal of All Things.” Rockville United Methodist Church at 9:00 a.m. and (AC) TUMC 10:45 a.m. October 20 – November 24. Everyone is welcome.

Halloween in the park hosted by GFWC-Achievers will be October 31. Free hotdogs will be served 5:00-6:30 p.m. Costume judging for all ages, begins at 5:30. The GFWC-Achievers would love to see all the spooks!

Funds are needed for the backpack program. Trinity United Methodist Church in AC houses this project, which is funded by you, the community. They now are sending 37 packs of food home with school kids weekly. Donations may be made to: TUMC, with memo: Backpack. Thank You.

River of Life will host Ingathering3 this year at the church in Rockville. Meetings are nightly October 16- 23 featuring different ministers and worship leaders/teams each night throughout the 8 days of meetings. There will be a light meal each evening at 6:00 p.m., followed by worship at 7:00 p.m. Offerings will be taken each evening for visiting ministry. Any donations to help with meeting expenses are welcome but the meetings are free to attend and all are welcome. There will be special music multiple evenings as well.
