Warren William Weno, age 66, of Windsor, MO, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO.
Warren was born May 8, 1958, in Windsor to Ralph Edward Weno and Kathleen Virginia (Harlan) Weno. He attended and graduated from the E. W. Thompson State School in Sedalia.
After his mother’s death in 1994, Warren resided with his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Ihlia Weno, until his move to the Windsor Healthcare and Rehab in April, 2024.
Affectionately nicknamed Warnie, he never knew a stranger. Warren always had a smile and hug ready for all his friends and any “big guy” or “girlfriend” he encountered. He was always happy to be the self-designated best man for any couple planning a wedding and was Grandpa Warnie to any new addition to the family. He had such a big and generous heart and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Warnie loved to fish, always catching the big ones; drawing and making crafts, which he proudly loved to share with others in forms of pictures, God’s eyes, and yarn covered hangers; scratching lottery tickets; the Kansas City Chiefs; and Pokemon.
Warren is survived by his brothers Jim Weno (Ihlia) of Windsor, MO, John Weno (Edith) of Windsor, MO, and Robert Weno (Karen) of Independence, MO; his sisters Edna Knox (Tom Kennedy) of Windfield, MO, Mary Robinson of St. Maries, ID, and Ann Reno (Darren Hankins) of Warsaw, MO; sisters-in-law Rose McCown of California and Debbie Weno of Rockville, MO; brother-in-law, Rick Womble, Sedalia, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Elzie Sonny McCown, Ralph Weno Jr., and Claib Weno, sisters Kathleen Elaine Weno and Jeanette Womble, brothers-in-law, Woody Knox, Jim Robinson, and Richie Reno, and sister-in-law, Ellen Weno.
