Rick Richwine, 67, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Green Ridge, Mo., died Monday, November 18, 2024, at his home.
He was born November 9, 1957, in Sedalia, Mo., the son of Roy Leo Richwine and Ruby Pearl (Harms) Richwine. He served in the United States Army from 1979 to 1982 as an engineer sergeant at Fort Ord in California. Following his military service, he worked at the International Shoe Factory in Windsor for 12 years, Golden Valley Cheese in Clinton for 7 years, and then laid carpet for several years. He raced in the Street Stock class with his family and friends as his pit crew for 8 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, watching Westerns. His favorite pastime was going out on the town, enjoying two-step dancing with friends.
Survivors include 3 children, James Richwine, Independence, Mo., Felicia Garcia (Daniel), South Dakota, and Chantel Neal (Isaac), Warrensburg, Mo.; 5 grandchildren, Jayven, Andru, Dylan, Nora, and Ella, and a grandchild on the way; a sister, Carol Acker, Windsor, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Peggy Richwine, Windsor, Mo.; and 6 nephews and nieces, Chandra, Curt, Lisa, Pam, Jeff, and Chad; and several great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, William “Bill” Richwine and his wife Joyce and Larry Richwine; a brother-in-law, Walter “Shorty” Acker; and a nephew, Gabe Richwine.
Funeral services with military honors will be 4:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Jamie Hargett officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., before the service. Burial will take place at a later date.
