Howard Frank Hughes, 83, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Windsor, Mo., died Saturday morning, January 4, 2025, at Cross Creek at Lee’s Summit.
He was born March 1, 1941, in Windsor, Mo., the son of Frank Hughes and Marge (Samuel) Hughes. On January 14, 1967, he married Deanna R. Nichols in Independence, Mo., and she survives of the home.
Howard graduated from Windsor High School in 1958 and then attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. He was a farmer and also worked as a real estate broker. After moving to Independence, he appraised real estate. Howard was very active in his local church, serving as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and music leader. He enjoyed fishing and cutting wood and loved his family.
In addition to his wife Deanna, survivors include a daughter, Nicole Brown (Jim), Independence, Mo.; a grandson, Justin Brown, Independence, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Don Allee, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Barbara Allee and Diane Waisner and her husband Jerry.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Nolan Carrier officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
