Darrel Gene Morgan, 77, of Calhoun, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
He was born October 30, 1947, in Clinton, Mo. He was the son of Joseph McClymond and Geneva (Rader) McClymond. On September 30, 1970, in Clinton, Mo., he married Judy Rae Johnston and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2006.
Darrell served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1968. He worked as a lineman with Sprint (formerly United Telephone) for 26 years. He was a cattleman from 1970 to 2010, first helping on the family farm and then running it until it was sold to his son, Bradley Morgan. He remained on the farm until his passing. He enjoyed conversation with friends during his morning breakfast at Sidetrack Café and at the American Legion in Windsor. He had a positive attitude that made people smile.
Survivors include a daughter, Helena Lance (Gary), Windsor, Mo., and a son, Bradley Morgan (Christy), Calhoun, Mo.; 4 grandchildren, Darrel Fontaine, Jacqueline Parker, Lane Morgan, and Cole Morgan; 2 brothers, Lance McClymond (Lynetta), and David McClymond (Dixie); 6 nephews and nieces; and several great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to his wife Judy, he was preceded in death by his parents.
