Everett Howard Hicks, 80, of Windsor, Missouri, died Wednesday evening, January 8, 2025, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
He was born November 5, 1944, in Windsor, Mo., the son of Rolla Howard Hicks and Mary Genevieve (Parr) Hicks. On May 24, 1984, he married Lois Fraulein Coffey in Calhoun, and she survives of the home.
Everett worked in construction burying cable for Telecom and several construction companies. He also farmed for many years and was a mechanic and enjoyed old cars. When not working, he was busy gardening and liked to hunt and fish. He enjoyed music, birds, and always took the best care of his family. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith. He was a beloved father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Lois, survivors include children Janice Blank (Charles) of Pilot Grove, Mo., Michael Coffey (Delia) of Stover, Mo., Chad Hicks (Rosalina) of Windsor, Mo., Betty Claycomb (Clint Caldwell) of Windsor, Mo., Eric Ruddock of Minnesota, Michael Ruddock of Texas, Steven Ruddock of Texas, Chris Doyle (Kyla) of Texas, and Nick Doyle (Sara) of Texas; 4 sisters, Mary Massey of Florida, Cathy Smith of Sedalia, Melissa Hicks of Calhoun, and Tammy Nelson (Paul) of Calhoun; a brother, Jack Hicks (Delesa) of Calhoun; 31 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Tony Doyle and Duane Claycomb, a grandson, Chase Claycomb, and a sister, Delores Foster.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, Mo., with Rev. Murlin Anstine officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with a time of sharing to be held at 1:30 p.m. The family suggests contributions to Windsor Healthcare for the activity fund (checks payable to Windsor Healthcare).
