Good morning everyone. Over the weekend, Henry County only received half of an inch of precipitation, and that mainly Saturday evening. We have another strong cold front that will be moving into our area overnight tonight, bringing rain and thunderstorms through Thursday. Current data is showing 1″-1.5 ” of rainfall on average expected in West Central Missouri through this period. Soil moisture at the 8″ level is running at 54.8% right now, which is 3.25% higher than this time last year. Soil temperatures are running at 62 degrees at the 2″ bare level, 61.9 degrees at the 4″ bare level and 61.6 degrees at the 6″ soybean residue level. Morel mushrooms should be finishing up this week now with the soil temperatures where they are at. You better get out there and pick what you can! According to the LRC, our next big storm system is poised to come through around May 8,9th and 10th. This is the same system that produced a tornado in Nevada and 2 tornadoes in Bates county, so I will be watching that storm system very closely. I will leave you with this week’s Ag Meteogram for West Central Missouri. Have a great Monday and stay weather aware for a couple of strong storms over night. Subby
