Linda F. Venable, 73, of Oak Grove, Missouri, formerly of Clinton, Mo., died late Saturday evening, May 3, 2025, at her home.
She was born July 10, 1951, in Raytown, Mo., the daughter of Junior Dale Thomas and Leona May (Stoneking) Thomas. She graduated from Raytown High School. She was a devoted mother to three children, Michele, Christinia, and Danny.
After apprenticing as a hairstylist in Warrensburg, she worked at The Jones Store in Kansas City as a hairdresser. She then worked at US Bank in Blue Springs and then in Marceline for several years. After moving to Clinton to be close to her father, she worked at Walmart in Warsaw before retirement. Linda enjoyed crafts and flower arranging. She was a NASCAR enthusiast, never missing a race on TV. She was an active member of the Golden Valley Auxiliary 1894 in Clinton. Her dachshunds were her constant companions, and she loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them.
Survivors include 3 children, Michele Venable, Oak Grove, Mo., Christinia Howerton (Jeramy), Brookfield, Mo.; Danny Venable (Aimee), Oak Grove, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Shelby Roth (Michael Woodall), Donald Louis Roth IV (Erin O’Neil), Bryce Howerton (Rylea Burton), Cody Howerton, Nathan Howerton (Ashlin), Collin Howerton, and Indy Venable; 5 great-grandchildren, Colby Scott Woodall, Easton Woodall, Emerson Roth, Hazel Mae Howerton, and Everlee Marie Howerton; a brother, J. Stephen Thomas (Caralee), Independence, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Fran Thomas, Independence, Mo.; a nephew and niece and several great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dale E. Thomas.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Cheryl Castilow officiating. A memorial fund has been established to help with funeral expenses and contributions may be made in care of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
