Clinton, MO (May 8, 2025) – A large crowd gathered today at Clinton Regional Airport to celebrate the grand opening of the airport’s brand-new terminal facility. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks from local and state leaders, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s history.
The new terminal, which comes with a $2 million price tag, was made possible largely through a $1.8 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration. The modern facility is expected to enhance operations and improve the travel experience for pilots and passengers alike.
Clinton Mayor Carla Moberly spoke at the event, along with Missouri Department of Transportation Commissioner Gregg Smith and former Airport Manager Wallace White. Each praised the investment as a major step forward for Clinton’s infrastructure and economic potential.
A special moment during the ceremony honored current Airport Manager Joel Long, who was presented with a commemorative plaque by Commissioner Smith in recognition of his dedication to the airport’s continued development.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony capped off a morning filled with celebration, as community members, aviation enthusiasts, and public officials came together to witness the beginning of a new era for Clinton Regional Airport.
