The City of Clinton is temporarily closing the Transfer Station this Saturday, following an overwhelming response to City Wide Clean Up Week and equipment issues at the regional disposal site.

City Administrator Christy Maggi says the City has struggled to keep up with the volume of materials being dropped off, as the disposal site where collected items are taken is currently experiencing equipment failures. With limited capacity left at the Transfer Station, the City has made the decision to close it this Saturday to prevent overflow.

Maggi added that the City plans to offer fee-free disposal days Wednesday – Saturday (May 28-31) after Memorial Day to help residents dispose of items without charge.

She will join Steve Steven’s on KDKD live Friday morning to further explain the situation and share more details with the community.

Residents are encouraged to stay tuned to KDKD and the City of Clinton’s official channels for updates on the upcoming fee-free days and Transfer Station availability.
