What a soggy Holiday weekend even though we did get a few breaks. Here is latest observed total rainfall;

2″-2.5″ of rainfall fell over the weekend on average here in WCMO, with 3″-6″ totals being reported down in Vernon County. For most of our area, I do not believe the additional rainfall has hurt those that do not have river bottom crops, although we do need some drying out. Latest information from MU Extension shows that over 85% of corn has been planted here in WCMO and 35% of the soybeans. Our spring so far has eliminated the drought index for our area, in which I have not seen that happen over the last 2 years;

Looking out long range, we still have 2 storm systems the LRC has projected in the month of June; June 6th-11th and again on June 12th-18th. After that, we should slowly begin seeing the jet stream retreat up north, taking the severe weather with it. Although this does not mean we will not get any more big systems or severe weather for the rest of summer, but that our “severe weather season” will be drawing to a historically speaking end for the spring. Have a great rest of the Holiday weekend and I will leave you with our exclusive Ag Meteorgram for this week;
