The Clinton City Council will convene for its next regular meeting on Tuesday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 105 E. Ohio Street. The agenda includes a mix of administrative approvals, policy updates, and discussions on public safety and upcoming community events.

Among the highlights of the meeting is consideration of Resolution No. 13-2025, which would approve a grant award agreement between the Clinton Fire Department and HeroFundUSA, Inc. The grant would provide funding for portable radios, enhancing communication capabilities for emergency responders.

In committee updates, the Finance Committee will present Resolution No. 09-2025, addressing Clinton’s annual membership with the Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission and the appointment of a city representative to the regional body.

The Council will also take up Bill No. 2025-03, a proposed ordinance that repeals and replaces the city’s existing policies related to alcohol and controlled substance use, abuse, and testing for employees. The updated policy aims to align with current best practices and legal requirements.

Additionally, Council members will consider a request to close parts of the downtown square to accommodate the upcoming Olde Glory Days celebration, one of the city’s most popular annual events.

Economic Development Director Mark Dawson is scheduled to deliver an update, and routine approvals—including the June 3 meeting minutes—will be addressed. No new bills are expected for a second reading, and the Public Works Committee reported no recent meeting activity.

The meeting is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend to stay informed on city decisions and initiatives.
