The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday afternoon in the Finley area.
At approximately 12:05 p.m., Central Dispatch alerted deputies to a reported shooting in the 700 block of SE 1251 Private Road. Deputies responded immediately, and while en route, they were informed that the alleged suspect had fled the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased female resident at the location. The area was secured, and investigators began processing the scene and collecting evidence.
A short time later, deputies with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office located and detained the suspected individual in Benton County. That person is currently being held on a 24-hour investigative hold.
Authorities have not released the names of the victim or the suspect at this time. The case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
