
A routine traffic stop late Friday night led to a significant drug bust by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the area.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on June 14 in the 500 block of NW 50 Highway. During the stop, deputies conducted a search that uncovered a bottle of codeine, approximately 58 grams of psychedelic mushrooms (“shrooms”), 167 grams of methamphetamine, and 4.5 grams of crack cocaine.
In addition to the known substances, deputies also recovered an unidentified substance and 24 unknown pills, which have been sent for further analysis.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released information on any arrests. Further charges may be pending based on lab results and continued investigation.
The sheriff’s office reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and encouraged residents to report suspicious activity as part of a shared effort to keep the community safe.
