
The Clinton Public Works Committee held an open meeting Tuesday morning at City Hall to review ongoing city maintenance, development, and infrastructure updates. The 7:00 a.m. meeting was attended by committee members Roger House, Cameron Jackson, and Rob Hills, along with city staff and representatives from Alliance Water Resources (AWR), including Jon Patriarca, Steve McKim, and Dustin Sterling. Mayor Carla Moberly was also present.
Community Development Update
The committee began by reviewing the monthly building report under Community Development, with city staff providing a brief update on current construction and permitting activity across the city.
Street Department: Pavement & Clean-Up Efforts
The Street Department addressed two key items:

IMS Pavement Budgetary Estimate: The committee reviewed preliminary budget figures related to the city’s pavement management strategy.

Citywide Clean-Up Report: Public Works staff reported the successful collection of 10 open-top dumpsters and 5 additional tanks, totaling 77.98 tons of waste. The effort cost approximately $7,952, reflecting continued efforts to keep Clinton’s neighborhoods clean and well-maintained.
Wastewater Department Projects
Several major updates were provided by AWR and city personnel regarding wastewater operations:

South Meadows Pump Replacement: Progress is underway on replacing the critical pump system at South Meadows.

CIPP (Cured-in-Place Pipe) Repairs: Staff discussed the ongoing implementation of trenchless pipe repair technologies to extend the life of aging sewer infrastructure.

Manhole Inspections: Routine inspections continue to assess structural integrity and prevent infiltration issues.

Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Upgrade: Plans for upgrades at the WWTP were discussed, with an emphasis on future capacity and compliance improvements.
The meeting concluded with discussion of future planning needs and continued coordination between city staff, contractors, and elected officials.
