Downtown Sedalia’s First Thursday – Celebrate July 3 with Live Music, Family Fun, and Community Spirit

The City of Sedalia and Sedalia Downtown Main Street invite the entire community to celebrate Independence Week in the heart of Downtown Sedalia at the First Thursday event on Wednesday, July 3, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. 

This special holiday edition promises an evening packed with family-friendly activities, great local food, shopping, and an impressive lineup of live music. Activities and Attractions Include: 

Olympics & Foot Race: Begins at 6:30pm (Registration at 5:30pm) Patriotic Costume Contest: 7:30pm show your best red, white, and blue! First Responder Displays: Fire truck, police cruiser, and sheriff’s patrol on site for tours and photos from 5:30 to 8:30pm. 

Food Trucks, Artists, and Vendors: Enjoy local eats and shopping throughout downtown from 5:30 to 8:30pm. 

Bounce House: Free fun for the kids to enjoy all evening.

Headline Concert at “The Lot” Behind Hayden Liberty Center: From 5:30 to 8:30pm, enjoy a free live show featuring powerhouse vocalist Lesley Evans, sister of country music star Sara Evans. Lesley brings decades of experience touring the country and performing on live TV. 

She’ll be joined by Clay Cumbie, a singer/songwriter who has shared the stage with artists like Luke Bryan, Zac Brown Band, and Justin Moore. Backed by The Big Tree Band, they’ll deliver a high-energy performance blending country, rock, and crowd favorites. 

Make It a Night to Remember: 

Grab a lawn chair, bring the family, and come downtown to celebrate our community spirit. Enjoy live music at multiple venues, shop local vendors, sample food truck fare, and let the kids play in the bounce house—all while kicking off the Fourth of July holiday in style.
