The City of Clinton is conducting routine maintenance on its storm sirens today, and residents may hear sirens sounding as part of the testing process.
According to a public notice issued this morning, technicians will be working on each of the storm sirens located within the city limits throughout the day. During this maintenance, the sirens may be briefly activated to ensure they are functioning properly.
Officials stress that any siren activity heard today is not an emergency but simply a part of the scheduled testing. The maintenance is limited to Tuesday, July 1, and will not extend beyond today.
Residents are advised not to be alarmed by any siren sounds unless otherwise notified through official emergency channels.
