Clinton High School students Cody Mitchell and Dylan Lutjen earned national recognition by placing 6th in the nation at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference held in Anaheim, California. The conference was held from June 29th to July 2nd. Competing in the highly competitive Introduction to Social Media Strategy event, the duo showcased their skills in digital communication and community engagement.

Their award-winning project centered on the Clinton School District’s “Home Run for the Future” campaign, a capital fundraising initiative to support the development of a new baseball and softball complex at Clinton High School. Cody and Dylan conducted an in-depth analysis of the district’s strategic use of social media to boost public awareness, foster community involvement, and build momentum around the campaign. Their presentation demonstrated a strong understanding of how digital platforms can be leveraged to support real-world initiatives.

Also representing Clinton with distinction was Malachi Wilson, who placed 14th nationally in the Electronic Career Portfolio event. Malachi’s project involved designing a detailed and professional electronic resume, conducting extensive career research, and presenting a comprehensive career plan—skills that will serve him well in both college and future employment.

These outstanding achievements reflect the dedication, creativity, and professionalism of Clinton High School’s FBLA chapter and its commitment to preparing students for success in business, leadership, and technology-driven careers.
