
Sheriff Aaron N. Brown has released the Henry County Sheriff’s Office weekly arrest and incident report for the period of July 4 through July 10, 2025, highlighting several significant arrests and law enforcement activity across the region.
Drug Arrests in Rural Clinton Area
On July 6, Sergeant Brandt and Deputy Moree conducted a vehicle check in a rural area outside Clinton, which led to the arrest of two individuals for alleged drug activity. John Hale, 50, of Forest City, and Cristal Burgess, 26, of Marshall, were placed on 24-hour investigative holds for delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following further investigation, the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office filed formal charges on July 7. Hale was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class C Felony, with a warrant issued and bond set at $25,000 cash-only. Burgess faces the same charge, with bond set at $10,000 cash-only.
Warrants Served in Clinton
Two separate warrant arrests were made in the Clinton area. On July 8, Deputy England arrested Jacob Bailey, 22, of Clinton, on a failure-to-appear warrant for careless and imprudent driving.
Then on July 10, Deputy Saulters arrested Kenneth Reed, 60, of Clinton, at the Henry County Courthouse on a felony warrant for leaving the scene of an accident.
Animal Neglect Investigation Leads to Arrests
Also on July 10, Sgt. Brandt arrested Joseph Ash, 30, and Mechele Sankey, 23, both of Clinton, in connection with an ongoing investigation into animal neglect or abandonment. Both were taken into custody on 24-hour investigative holds.
Inmate Population and Patrol Activity
As of the most recent report, the Henry County Jail houses 113 inmates — 85 males and 28 females.
Deputies were active across Henry County during the week, with patrols in communities including Blairstown, Deepwater, Montrose, Urich, Windsor, and Clinton, as well as locations such as Bucksaw Marina, the Clinton Airport, and Montrose Lake.
