William E. “Bill” Jobes

William E. “Bill” Jobes, 88, of Tightwad, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the Trustwell Living Center in Raytown, MO. He was born in Moundsville, West Virginia, the son of William E. Jobes, Sr., and Lillie Mae (Hendricks) Jobes.
He married Betty Irene (Nay)Sexson in 1993. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2013.
Bill was employed as an electrician with General Motors for over 25 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 31, the American Legion in Warsaw, MO and the Elks Lodge of Warsaw, MO. Bill was a lifelong steel guitar player. He was heavily involved in the steel guitar community. For several years he taught steel guitar lessons.
Surviving are four children, Russell Jobes (Janet), Brian Jobes (Carmen), Robin Crawford (Scott), and Renee Male (Joe); step-children, Geneva Sheets ( Charles), Mary Jo Spellerberg (Joe), Janet Thornburg (Melton), Betty Sumey, and Robert Sexson (Susan); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Pat Jobes (Elaine); and a multitude of friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son, Billy Sexson.
Funeral services will be at Noon Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to Noon, just prior to the funeral service.
