Local contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers are invited to attend a special event hosted by the Harry S. Truman Dam & Reservoir to learn about government contracting opportunities and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Truman Powerplant.
The event, titled “Prospective and Current Contractors – A Tour & More Presentation,” will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Harry S. Truman Powerplant, located at 29564 Powerhouse Road in Warsaw.
Designed for both prospective and current prime contractors and subcontractors, the presentation will offer valuable information on how to become eligible for contracts with the Truman Project, how to expand existing eligibility for advertised opportunities, and what types of work are commonly advertised. Attendees will also receive an overview of the Harry S. Truman Dam & Reservoir’s critical missions, which include dam safety, flood control, hydropower, and recreational and natural resource management.
Allen Waldo, Senior Procurement Specialist with APEX Accelerators, will lead the presentation. He will offer insights into the SAM (System for Award Management) registration process and be available to answer questions about government contracting.
Construction, service, and supply contractors are especially encouraged to attend. Participants are asked to bring business cards to network and closed-toe shoes if they plan to take the tour of the powerhouse.
Officials note that contractor partnerships play a vital role in helping Truman Lake maintain its infrastructure and deliver services that support its wide-reaching environmental and recreational responsibilities.
