
Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare (GVMH) is proud to recognize the remarkable career and upcoming retirement of Dr. Gus Wetzel II, who will officially retire on July 31, 2025, after more than five decades of dedicated service to our patients and community.
Dr. Gus Wetzel II began his medical career in 1972 and had the rare and meaningful opportunity to work alongside his father, Dr. Gus Wetzel Sr. Together with Dr. R.S. Hollingsworth, Dr. Gus Wetzel Sr. was instrumental in founding Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare. That legacy of service, commitment and compassion has lived on through Dr. Gus Wetzel II’s extraordinary contributions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gus Wetzel II has provided exceptional care to generations of families in the region, becoming a trusted and beloved figure in the lives of countless patients. Known for his clinical excellence, integrity and deep compassion, he has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Clinton and the surrounding communities.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Gus Wetzel II has been a dedicated mentor to numerous physicians and healthcare professionals, and helped shape the future of GVMH. His insight and leadership were instrumental in guiding strategic decisions, supporting organizational growth and advancing access to quality care throughout the region.
