New Chamber Member: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
The Chamber welcomes St. Paul’s Episcopal Church to its growing membership. Located at 1837 E Hwy 7 in Clinton, this close-knit congregation alternates between celebrating The Holy Eucharist and Morning Prayer. Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday Begins
Missouri’s annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs from Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3. For 2025, all state and local sales taxes will be waived on qualifying items such as clothing, school supplies, and computers, thanks to Senate Bill 153. Businesses can find rate tables and filing info at dor.mo.gov.
Clinton Main Street Sidewalk Sale
Clinton Main Street invites shoppers downtown for the Summer Sidewalk Sale, happening Thursday through Saturday, July 31–August 2. Enjoy local deals and support Clinton’s small businesses.
Community Opioid Awareness Event
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and MOCIC will host an opioid crisis awareness event on Tuesday, August 5, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Clinton. Open to the public, the forum will focus on addiction, prevention, and community collaboration. Sheriff Aaron Brown encourages all to attend and be part of the solution.
Business Connection at Seeds of Faith Preschool
Join the Chamber for a Business Connection lunch on Wednesday, August 20, from 12–1 p.m. at Seeds of Faith Preschool, 215 N. 7th St., celebrating their 15th anniversary.
Call for Volunteers: Project Connect Health Fair
Volunteers are needed for Project Connect, a one-day free public health fair at the Benson Center on Friday, September 12, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Setup help is also needed on September 11. To volunteer, contact Melissa at 660-885-2394.
Business License Renewals Now Available
The City of Clinton has mailed and emailed renewal forms for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. All businesses must renew by October 1, 2025. New businesses can visit City Hall or apply online. Questions? Call 660-885-6121.
“Featured with the GCACC” Facebook Highlights
The Chamber continues showcasing local businesses on its Facebook page with its “Featured with the GCACC” series. Recent highlights include Equity Bank, OakStar Bank, Evans Pipe & Steel, Novus LifeCare, and more.
Ag Person of the Year Nominations Open
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2025 Ag Person of the Year award. The honoree will be recognized at the Ag Appreciation Dinner on August 18 at 6 p.m. at the Benson Center. Forms are due by Monday, August 4.
Truman Lake Community Foundation Grant Cycle Open

Ag Appreciation Dinner Set for August 18
The 52nd Annual Ag Appreciation Dinner takes place Monday, August 18 at 6 p.m. at the Benson Center. Sponsored tables and tickets are now available. The event will include dinner, awards, and the annual 4H/FFA Steer and Ham Auction.

Looking for a Clinton-themed souvenir? The Chamber now offers Clinton magnets for just $5. Available at 200 S. Main St., weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
