From Chester Jones, Whiteman Air Force Base Community Council member from Clinton;
I sat down with our Sister Unit yesterday afternoon after the BCC meeting on Base. They have a few fun activities planned for the remainder of the year. I would like to share this info with the Chamber and see if anyone would like to volunteer with one of these events or donate items for any of these events. Most of these events are off base so access will not be an issue.
Would like to thank Oakstar Bank ,Compass Health and the VFW Post 1894 and the Auxiliary for their donations to last month’s little picnic.
WAFB also has Airmen that would like to get off base and help volunteer their time to help our Chamber members. If you might have a need for some young, energetic airmen, they would love to volunteer for a few hours.
If you would like to donate your time to one of these events, give a monetary donation, or maybe a door prize for the Bingo Night or the Christmas Party, please let me know.

Volunteer Opportunity–We are excited to invite you to volunteer at the inaugural Project Connect, a one-day public health fair dedicated to providing free health services, resources, and educational opportunities to our local community.

Project Connect will welcome approximately 350 attendees and is open to everyone in our region. Our goal is to connect individuals, families, and organizations with critical health services and valuable community resources.

- Event Day: Friday, September 12, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

It gives the viewer a “one-stop shopping experience” for each of our Chamber members. Non-profit agencies with 501(c)3 or similar tax-exempt status like schools, faith based organizations or governmental entities are eligible to apply for grants. In awarding grants, TLCF and the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status.
Eligible nonprofits can begin the application process online starting August 1, 2025 at cfozarks.org/applyforgrants.
TLCF was founded in 1998 with a mission to enhance the quality of life in Henry County and surrounding area through resource development, community grant making, collaboration and
public leadership. Through the generosity of donors, our fund balances have grown to $14 million dollars. To date, we have awarded more than $4 million in grants.

Are you needing a meeting space in Clinton? If so, the Chamber of Commerce may be able to help you out. The Chamber of Commerce building at 200 S. Main St. features a conference room with a table and chairs for about ten people, possibly more if needed. The room features a big screen TV with access to Internet, zoom and more, a sink, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, and restrooms. This room is available to members of the Clinton Chamber free of charge. It is also available to those that are not members of our Chamber, however there is a fee. The room can be used during business hours from 8am till 4:30pm Monday through Friday. After hours and weekend hours can be discussed.
