The next Second Wednesday, Meet Me On Main Shop and Stroll will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., August 13. You can congratulate Jina’s Junque on its 2nd anniversary. Participating businesses include Jina’s Junque, 3 Wishes, 4th Street Fika, AC Library, Cork & Keg, A.C. T.N.R. and other vendors. Growing In Grace Community Center will be serving homemade cinnamon rolls, soft-serve ice-cream and slushies. AC Library will be doing a craft night at the library 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday August 13 during the Meet Me on Main event.

August 16 is Kid’s Fun Day 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Growing In Grace Community Center in AC. They will have a balloon twister and games. There will also be hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, slushies and popcorn. Please bring your kids and have some fun.

AC Manor is planning a welcome party for their new activities staff and you are invited. Come welcome Connie Cook, Activities Director and her assistant Shannon Cook on Friday, August 22 from 1:00 to 3:00. Snacks will be provided. 

There will be an Appleton City Kids Day in Forest Park, 12:00-8:00 p.m. August 23.  Activities include water slides, bounce house, carnival games, pony rides and K-9 demonstration.  Delicious food and treats will be available for purchase.  Kids of all ages are welcome.

Montrose School Basketball and Montrose Youth Activities Association are sponsoring the 2nd Annual Montrose Bluejay Golf Tournament 8:30 a.m. September 27 at Clinton Country Club. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just looking for a great time, this event is for you. The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will be in Appleton City at the Appleton City Pool parking lot on Monday September 8, 2025. This is an authentic one ring, big top circus. The day will start with a tent raising and tour at 9:30 a.m. The midway opens at 4:00 p.m. and the performances will be at 5:00 and 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $16 per adult and $9 for children (2-12 yrs.) or seniors (65+).  Advance tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. Advance tickets must be purchased before September 8 and will be available at Powell’s True Value, Food Fair, City Hall, Red Door Salon, Greater Clinton Area Chamber or Carney’s Five Star Supermarket in Osceola. The 2025 EMH Community Block Party will be 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Ellett Memorial Hospital in AC. The Block Party will have little something for everyone.  Reduced-price lab draws will be available from 8:00-11:00 a.m.  Booths will be set up with health information on available services and resources.  Come shop the vendors! It’s never too early to start your Christmas Shopping and they have small business vendors on-site selling a wide range of products.  There will also be several activities for the kids to enjoy: bounce house, petting zoo, face painting, kid’s games, fire truck and ambulance. EMH will also be providing free snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy. The St. Clair Co Sheriff’s Department will have K-9 demos. The AC Fall City Wide Garage Sale dates have been set for October 3 and 4. Information regarding permits will be posted at a later date. 

The Appleton City Carousel is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday 4:00-7:00 p.m. until Labor Days weekend. If anyone in the area has visitors from an unvisited state or country, Linda Lampkin is willing to meet them in off hours. Leave a message at 660-492-0131.

The Appleton City Museum is open Friday afternoons 1:30-4:30 through September 26, with other times by chance or appointment.  Contact Susan at 660-464-0288.  New exhibits have been added including stained glass window from the original First Baptist Church and a beautiful framed mirror from Motts Food Locker in Rockville.  Bring your family to learn about Appleton City’s history.

2025 – 2026 Kansas City Chiefs game radio broadcasts are now available on 95.3 FM, KDKD in Clinton, MO.
