A Missouri Lottery player never imagined he would uncover a $77,777 top prize on the “Ruby Red 7s” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Casey’s, 500 W. Benton St. in Windsor.
“I almost didn’t buy it!” exclaimed the winner. “It was the beginning of the month, and I buy $20 worth of tickets each month. I play off of them until I don’t win and then I’m done for the month.”
As soon as he saw the black “7” symbol, he was happy he changed his mind and decided to purchase the ticket.
“I’m still not sure it’s real!” he chuckled, while claiming his prize at Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City.
So far “Ruby Red 7s” players have won more than $10.8 million in prizes since the $5 game was released. Over $3.2 million in prizes remain unclaimed, including an additional top prize of $77,777.
In FY24, players in Henry County won more than $4.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $358,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $377,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
