With Kansas City set to host World Cup matches from June 16 through July 11, 2026, Clinton is already beginning to feel the ripple effects of the global event. Local hotels are reporting strong early bookings, and emergency officials are making plans to accommodate an anticipated surge in regional visitors.

Both the Hampton Inn and Parkfield Inn in Clinton confirm they are already at 50 percent occupancy for the tournament period—nearly a year in advance. Clinton’s convenient location along major travel routes to Kansas City makes it an attractive, affordable lodging option for international guests and out-of-town fans headed to Arrowhead Stadium.

Beyond hotels, local businesses expect a major boost. Restaurants, retailers, and gas stations are preparing for increased traffic.

Henry County Emergency Management officials are also taking early steps to ensure the area is ready. Plans are being developed to address heavier traffic, public safety, and potential strain on local infrastructure and services.

City leaders and emergency responders will continue coordinating in the months ahead to assess needs for lodging, transportation, and public safety. With Kansas City being one of just 16 host cities across North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Clinton is poised to play an important supporting role in welcoming fans from around the world.
