Billy James Tabor

Billy James Tabor, 81, of Windsor, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Mo.

He was born July 10, 1944, in Bevier, Mo., to Wilford “Bill” Lee Tabor and Gwendolyn Marie (Mason) Tabor.

Bill was known for his love of cars, antiques and collecting coins. He loved to have fun running around with his family, junking at various flea markets. Bill loved to collect and repair Aladdin Lamps and he was very passionate about his lamps. He loved God and attended Corinth Baptist Church near Chilhowee, Mo.

He graduated from Bevier High school in Bevier, Mo. He worked at several jobs over the years including Southview Foods in Macon, Mo., and Gary Schafer Roofing Company, which led to him opening his own roofing company, Tabor Roofing. He took on a partner, Todd Beaverson, and Todd took over the company upon Bill’s retirement and renamed it Beaverson’s Roofing. After retirement, Bill worked for two years as a supervisor at the Clarence factory.

He served during the Vietnam War as a Third Class Yoeman (YN3) and was an administrative and clerical specialist, serving in an office to handle communication and paperwork in the U.S. Navy on the USS Niagara Falls, which was a ship serving as a vital logistical support ship during the war.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Deanna Lynn Breusch (Eric), Moberly, Mo., and Denise Marie Biere (Eric), Renick, Mo.; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters and a brother, Virginia Baker/Harrington (Phil), Clarence, Mo., Barbara Culver (Richard), Sedalia, Mo., Bonnie Carmody (John), Odessa, Mo., Donald Tabor (Karen), Brandsville, Mo., and Bridget Kennedy (John), Warsaw, Mo.; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bernell Eugene Tabor.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Corinth Baptist Church, Chilhowee, Mo., with Pastor Dale Snyder officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Richards Dale Cemetery, Bevier, Mo.
