
On September 9, 2025, Detective Baker and Captain Bilbruck were conducting a sex offender compliance check in the 400 block of S. Olive Street, in Calhoun. As part of this check, they visited the residence of Mark Osborne.
During the course of the investigation, deputies observed violations related to Osborne’s responsibilities under the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. As a result, Osborne was taken into custody and placed on a 24-hour investigative hold for failing to properly register as a sex offender.
Following his detention, the Sheriff’s Office applied for and was granted a search warrant for Osborne’s residence. During the execution of the warrant, investigators located and collected additional evidence, including a firearm and other items related to the ongoing investigation.
On September 10, 2025, the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office filed formal charges against Osborne, and the court issued a warrant for the following:
- Possession of Child Pornography – Second or Subsequent Offense or Possessing More Than 20 Pictures/One Film/Videotape (Felony B)
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felony E)
- Failure to Register as a Sex Offender Pursuant to Sections 589.400–425 (Felony E)
- Prior Offender Residing Within 1,000 Feet of a School or Child Care Facility After Conviction for a Specified Offense (Felony C)
Osborne is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond,
