Starting October 1, Sedalia residents will have more flexibility when it comes to household trash service, as the City rolls out new cart size options and updated dumpster rental rates.
For the first time, households will be able to choose from three different cart sizes to better fit their needs and budgets:

Small (35 gallon): $15.00/month

Medium (65 gallon): $19.50/month

Large (95 gallon): $22.50/month
Residents who generate more waste can also select two large carts for $26.00/month.
City officials said the new structure is designed to provide residents with more choice while maintaining efficient, cost-effective service.
In addition to the household cart options, the City has released new rates for large dumpster rentals:

These services are available to both residents and businesses who need extra capacity for special projects, property clean-outs, or ongoing commercial use.
A senior discount remains in place, offering residents aged 60 and older a $2.00 monthly discount on regular trash service.
Residents can submit their cart preferences online at https://tinyurl.com/5x8kepke or by calling 660-826-1234 for assistance. Cart exchanges will take place between October and December in a staggered process similar to the City’s Clean Sweep program.
“By offering more choices, we’re making it easier for households to match their service level to their actual needs,” said Public Works Director Justin Bray. “This change keeps Sedalia clean and affordable while supporting efficient waste management for the whole community.”
