Clinton Intermediate School is urging parents and guardians to help ensure a safe and efficient pickup process after school. Recently, dismissal traffic has begun to back up onto Ohio Street, creating congestion and raising safety concerns for both drivers and pedestrians.
School officials are asking families not to allow the pickup line to extend past the Banks Motors driveway on 8th Street. Parents are encouraged to wait until space is available before joining the line.
Authorities emphasize that Ohio Street is technically classified as a highway, and blocking traffic could lead not only to dangerous conditions but also to traffic citations. The request comes directly from the Clinton Police Department as part of their efforts to keep students, staff, and the community safe.
Clinton Intermediate School thanked families in advance for their cooperation and support in maintaining a safe dismissal process.
