Joint Enforcement Operation Brings Results Across Henry County

On September 24, 2025, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Midwest Missouri Career Criminal & Drug Task Force (MMCCDTF) carried out proactive enforcement operations across the county, focusing on targeted enforcement, compliance, and roadway safety.

As part of these operations, deputies completed sex offender registration compliance checks and conducted increased traffic enforcement throughout Henry County. These efforts resulted in:

  • 41 traffic stops
  • 35 verbal warnings
  • 8 citations
  • 2 arrests

September 24, 2025 – Possession of a Controlled Substance / Driving Without a License:
Cpl. Douglas conducted a traffic stop in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Tristan Dawson, age 34, of Windsor, for driving without a license, and Cheryl Kalkman, age 64, of Windsor, who was placed on a 24-hour investigative hold for possession of a controlled substance. A preliminary test was conducted on the substance located. Using a 1064 Defender drug identification analyzer, the crystalline substance was indicated to be methamphetamine.

Earlier in the day, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office assisted the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office in a vehicle pursuit in the Deepwater area. Thanks to the swift and professional response of St. Clair County deputies, the pursuit concluded with a successful foot chase and arrest.

The subject was identified as David A. Leonard, age 45, of Deepwater, who was found to have outstanding Henry County warrants for:

  • Probation Violation on the original charge of Assault – 4th Degree, with a $10,000 cash-only bond.
  • Failure to Appear on the original charges of Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, DWI, and Property Damage – 2nd Degree, with a $10,000 cash-only bond.
  • Failure to Appear on the original charges of Driving While Revoked/Suspended – 1st Offense and Owner/Operator of a Motor Vehicle without Maintaining Financial Responsibility – 1st Offense, with a $1,000 cash-only bond.

Additional charges related to the pursuit are currently pending in St. Clair County.
