The Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce received a helping hand this week from a group of young volunteers determined to spread some holiday cheer. Two dozen 7th and 8th grade students from Clinton Christian Academy joined Chamber staff at Elite Laundry to assist in the annual “re-bulbing” of the festive snowflake decorations that will soon adorn Clinton’s downtown streets.
Each year, these bright snowflakes bring a touch of Christmas magic to 2nd Street, Ohio Street, and the Clinton Square. Before they can shine, however, they require a little TLC — replacing bulbs and ensuring each light glows perfectly. Elite Laundry generously stores the decorations year-round and welcomes the Chamber and students into their facility each fall to prepare them for display.
Chamber officials expressed gratitude for the students’ help, noting their teamwork and enthusiasm make a big difference in keeping the tradition alive. “These CCA students are helping to make these snowflakes look beautiful,” the Chamber shared.
Once the bulbs are ready, Evergy and Jerry’s Pest Management will handle installation, ensuring the decorations are up and shining bright across Clinton by early November — just in time to kick off the holiday season downtown.
