Daylight Saving Time officially comes to an end this weekend. At 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, clocks across the United States will “fall back” one hour as we return to standard time.
Local safety officials remind everyone that the time change is also a good opportunity to replace the batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms, and other safety devices around the home.
The extra hour of sleep marks the shift toward shorter days and earlier sunsets as the winter season approaches. So before heading to bed Saturday night, don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour — and stay safe by checking your detectors while you’re at it.
