Sedalia, MO – November 7, 2025 – The City of Sedalia is calling on volunteers to join a Stream Team Clean-Up at Brushy Creek on Monday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. Before winter sets in, this local waterway could use a little extra love and every helping hand will make a visible difference.
Volunteers are asked to park behind McCarthy Auto and come prepared to make a splash for a cleaner community. The City will provide gloves, trash bags, bottled water, and free T-shirts while supplies last. This is about taking pride in where we live, keeping our local waters clean, protecting wildlife, strengthening neighborhoods, and showing that Sedalia cares.
Participation is open to individuals, families, civic groups, and students seeking community service hours. Volunteers should wear clothes and sturdy shoes or boots that they don’t mind getting dirty. Those interested in joining are encouraged to sign up at https://woobox.com/jnfk8q.
Let’s come together to help Brushy Creek shine because clean water starts with a caring community. For more information, contact Pernell Brooks with the City of Sedalia Water Department at 660-827- 3000 ext 1161.
