
Warrensburg, Mo. – Warrensburg R-VI School District officials placed all schools on lockdown Wednesday morning as a precaution due to an incident in the surrounding community.
According to district officials, the decision was made out of an abundance of caution while local law enforcement responded to and contained the situation. Students and staff remained safely inside school buildings throughout the lockdown.
Warrensburg Police later confirmed the situation in the community was resolved and there was no direct threat to any of the district’s schools. Once law enforcement gave the all-clear, the lockdown was lifted and normal operations resumed.
The district thanked families, staff, and law enforcement for their cooperation and understanding, emphasizing that the safety of students and employees remains their top priority.
