The familiar sound of holiday bells is just around the corner, and the Salvation Army is calling on community members to help make this season bright for local families in need. The organization will host two evenings of sign-up meetings for volunteer bell ringers on November 19th and 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clinton Masonic Lodge, 1109 E. Ohio Street.

The meetings are open to community groups, churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals who wish to volunteer for the annual Red Kettle Campaign—one of the Salvation Army’s most important fundraising efforts of the year. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate, and groups may sign up together to cover a full day or multiple shifts throughout the season.

Candace, the local Salvation Army representative coordinating this year’s campaign, says community support is essential. “Every hour of bell ringing helps raise funds that stay right here in our area,” she noted. “It’s a simple way to make a meaningful impact for families who rely on our services.”

Those unable to attend one of the meeting nights but still wanting to volunteer can contact Candace at 660-924-1176 for more information or to reserve a bell-ringing shift.

The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign officially kicks off soon, and organizers hope for a strong turnout to ensure all locations are staffed throughout the holiday season.
