Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare is proud to announce it has achieved the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORi) Center of Excellence (COE) designation which is the highest level of certification awarded to oncology rehabilitation programs.
This recognition honors healthcare facilities that deliver exceptional, evidence-based and patient-centered cancer rehabilitation through highly trained and dedicated therapists. It signifies that GVMH meets rigorous standards designed to enhance patient outcomes, improve operational efficiency and advance the standard of care in oncology rehabilitation.
This achievement reflects the collective effort of the entire team, with special recognition to Kisa Eye, Physical Therapist, and Bobbi Rains, Physical Therapist, whose leadership and attention to detail were instrumental in securing the certification.
By earning the PORi Center of Excellence designation, GVMH joins an elite group of healthcare providers recognized for delivering outstanding cancer rehabilitation services that address the complex physical, emotional and functional challenges faced by cancer survivors. The certification affirms GVMH’s commitment to helping patients optimize function, reduce disability and improve quality of life during and after cancer treatment.
With more than 18 million cancer survivors in the U.S., many of whom experience lasting effects from treatment, oncology rehabilitation plays a vital role in recovery. The PORi certification underscores GVMH’s dedication to meeting this need and providing comprehensive, compassionate care for every patient.
“We are honored to receive the PORi Center of Excellence recognition,” said Eric Curnutte, Director of Therapy Services at GVMH. “This achievement reflects the commitment of our staff to deliver exceptional care for our patients living with cancer.”
